Setup: Place the ring onto the outer edge of your index finger. Cup your other hand around it like you’re grabbing it off. As your fingers fold around it, bend your hand with the ring into a fist, hiding the index finger. You will now be in a “thumb palm” position. Continue the motion that you are still removing the ring with your other hand, curling the fingers around it. In fact, that hand is still empty and never actually slid the ring off.

Pro Tip: Change bags, boxes with secret compartments, and tables with cloth pockets can also be used to catch the ring you’ve palmed or help you make it appear again. Add a comedic element to your performance by only making the ring reappear right before your spectator has to join the audience…or wait until the end of the show for a really dramatic moment.
