Restored Card Secret
6m 11s
Setup: All you need is a regular deck of cards and a black marker. There are no other props or gimmicks required.
Carefully do a “double-lift” as you pick up two cards appearing to be only one. Fold both cards horizontally, then open up the top card. Continue the folding pattern as shown. The signed card will not be completely folded up, hidden behind the second card. From the front side, your viewers will think you are folding one card. As you rip the second card in half, do not reveal the signed card hidden behind it.
When the second card has been torn into four pieces, place three of them in your pocket. This leaves you with the folded (never torn) signed card and one-fourth of the torn card. From now on, you will only be showing these two parts. Follow the steps for gradually “restoring” the card from each corner.
Pro Tip: It’s important to perform this at a straight-on angle. While folding down the fourth section, don’t unfold it entirely yet. The audience might see the overlap with the torn-off corner piece in front. When you rub the final crease together, steal the remaining torn-off corner into your hand. Bring all the attention back to the “restored signed card.” Then give it to your spectator to keep.
