Double Your Dough Secret
4m 8s
Setup: All you need is a quarter, black marker, cloth napkin, and drinking glass. Ask your spectator to sign the coin. To make the quarter disappear, perform the “pinch vanish,” by releasing the coin from your fingertips to your palm under the cover of the cloth napkin. The coin stays hidden in your hand as you place the napkin into the glass, which is all purely misdirection. Put the bread roll on the glass rim.
While your spectator opens the napkin and sees their coin has disappeared…you are secretly pushing the quarter into the bottom of the bread roll. All their attention will be on the empty cloth and glass. For dramatic effect, let them open up the bread to find their signed quarter.
Pro Tip: At the start of the trick, tell the audience they’re about to “double their dough,” by turning a quarter into fifty cents. Of course, they’ll never expect the real finale you have in store for them. Also, let your spectator feel the coin under the cloth before you make it vanish. You want them to only ever think of the quarter being inside the cloth and nowhere else until the ending reveal.
