This card trick is a real memory maker for anyone who sees it. As a worldwide magic pro, Randy Wakeman knows exactly how to keep his audience in the palm of his hand. And you will, too. A volunteer randomly chooses a card. Add in any number of shuffles to get their card lost in the deck. However, you’re really controlling the card where you want it to go. Brush up your shuffling skills by checking out the course called “False Shuffles” on this platform.
Pro Tip: Lean in and ask the spectator if you can guess their card. While you ask this, it’s a cover for you secretly palming their card. When you flip over a different card and ask if it’s correct…all their attention will be on that face-up card. It's a bit of misdirection that buys you time and gets their eyes off what your other hand is doing. When you spread out the deck to see if their card is somewhere in the mix…this is your chance to hide the chosen card under the drinking glass.
As another layer of mystery, you can also have them sign the card when they select it at the start of the trick. Finally, using your own glass will spark less suspicion than moving around your spectator’s glass. Here’s more similar courses to explore: “Expert Card Magic,” “Showoff with Cards,” and “Clever Card Magic.
