Rudy Hunter demonstrates this trick with all four aces face-up so you can easily keep track of them for the explanation. The coolest part of this trick is your spectator handles the piles themselves. So they will feel as if they are actually doing something uniquely magical.
Setup: All you need is a regular deck of cards. There are no special or gimmicked cards required. Place all four aces on the top of the deck. You can overhand shuffle the cards, making sure the aces stay in their top position. Then have your spectator cut the deck into four different piles.
Ask your volunteer to follow this pattern for each pile. Move three cards from the top to the bottom. Then deal three more cards from the top to the other three piles. For the final pile…this will automatically move the aces to the top of all four piles. It’s a truly self-working card trick!
Pro Tip: Remind your spectator that once they were handed the deck, you never touched the cards. It adds another layer of believability if you overhand shuffle the deck a few times. Be careful to leave all four aces on the top.
