Setup: All you need is a regular deck of cards. The spectator really can shuffle the cards however they want. When they are done…this trick relies on the “bottom glimpse” technique. Remember the bottom card of their deck as they finish shuffling. That bottom card becomes your “key card” to focus on the rest of the trick.

Ask them to pick a card, place it on top of the deck. Then have them cut the deck and place the new pile on the top. At this point, it’s important to swap decks with them. Next, quickly remove the card just under the key card and place it on the table. They will be surprised to see the selected cards match.

Pro Tip: Try to get your card onto the table before the spectator, so they don’t think you are copying the position of the cards from which they are removing their selection.
